I would like to extend you all a very hearty and warm congratulations. Because of all of your hard work, and almost certainly because you pay such close attention to compliance training, testing, and these weekly compliance emails, United has received a compliance award from USAA.
You heard me right, folks. They actually give awards for compliance. Strangely, I was not invited to the "Nerdys" - industry name for compliance award ceremonies of any variety. So I wasn't able to get all spiffed up and walk down a red carpet or have a thank you speech prepared or anything like that. Hell, I didn't even hear that we received an award until like 3 days after we had received it, and even then it was only in a passing comment... something like, "I heard Christie Hammond was wearing our compliance award around her neck a'la Flavor Flav." If I only I had known. I would have squeezed into my finest suit and strutted down the aisle, waving at folks, sipping on that water they give, signing autographs, etc. When someone asked me who I was wearing, I'd be like, "Jos. A. Bank, Van Heusen, and London Fog." Nevertheless, it was not to be.
I will say, all kidding aside, that we are proud of recognition from our clients...even if it is only a compliance award, because it means that they recognize the hard work and dedication we put in to do things the right way. Hard work, integrity, family...it is these things that constitute the ethos of United.
